Scottish Local Government Pay Against Inflation

Back

Why you must Fight for a Decent rise in 2025:

Despite Annual Pay Awards, our pay has struggled to keep up with Cost of Living increases expressed as inflation. The graph shows how our pay compares to what it would have been worth if inflation had applied (In this case for Spinal Column Point(SCP) 40 since 2009):
Since 2009, our pay has simply not kept up with rising costs of living.
Current (Apr 2025) Inflation is between 3.5%(CPI) and 4.5%(RPI) with CPIH at 4.1%.
Employers CoSLA have offered a pay increase of just 3%.
UNISON's Claim is for a 6.5% increase on all points, with a minimum rate of in line with reaching £15 per hour by 1st Aril 2026.

The calculator below can show how our Actual Wage Rises have compared to Cost of Living increases since 2009. You should ask yourself, are you prepared to let that situation continue?
